Weiterstadt, Germany - September 4, 2009 – DFT Digital Film Technology, provider of high-end film and digital post production solutions that preserve, manage, and deliver your pictures announces that Version 4.5 of Bones Dailies is available with enhanced features.
Version 4.5 of the Bones Dailies non-linear dailies solution provides enhanced features to the Linux-based software solution. New features include:
- High speed Red ingest support with up to 16 fps in half resolution (2K) mode
- Direct file output for file-based deliverables (formats include MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, QuickTime, AVI, Chaptered DVDs and others)
- Improved 2K workflow with real-time, high-quality GPU accelerated 2K to HD down conversions or HD to SD down conversions for parallel outputs (up to 3 independent, parallel video outputs with different configurations)
Bones Dailies is software that manages the entire Dailies process for film and digital productions, enabling faster Dailies turnaround times.
Bones Dailies provides a template driven process for image and audio ingest, as well as playout. Audio / Video synching is automatic because of the algorithms that automatically find the sticks. Primary and secondary color-correction is all done in real-time. Bones Dailies is able to record logarithmic HD or 2K RGB 10-bit 4:4:4 images directly to standard file systems, local storage or SANs, therefore any playout from Bones is at the same high quality as what originally came off the Film Scanner or DataCine®. Since Bones Dailies is a files-based solution, you can start grading material while you are still scanning new material, even while outputting to tape.
Bones Dailies is helping facilities all around the world supercharge their dailies throughput. Examples include:
- Waterfront Studios, Cape Town, South Africa
- Mega Playground, New York, USA
- Cutting Edge, Sydney, Australia
At IBC Booth No. 7.E39, a Bones Dailies set-up will demonstrate the latest dailies software features in version 4.5. The new SCANITYTM film scanner, which is now shipping will be scanning at IBC. A Spirit HD Scanner with a Bones Transfer system will also be demonstrated.
Whether working in film, data or digital files, DFT Digital Film Technology delivers highly precise solutions to solve many post production challenges.
